
City parks, are open on this holiday; please note that fireworks are not allowed in any city facility or park.
Transit services for the ZOOM circulator bus will not run on July 4. Regular service will resume on Wednesday, July 5.
The Public Works Department will follow the holiday trash and recycling pick up schedule. There will be no trash and recycling collections on Tuesday, July 4. Sanitation services will resume the day after the holiday on a modified schedule where collection shifts one day later than usual. Residents who normally have Friday pick up will have a Saturday trash/recycle service day. Containers must be placed at curbside no later than 5 a.m. on the day of collection.
A Reminder about Fireworks Rules and Safety:
The Fire & Medical Department also extends a reminder to residents regarding the rules and regulations for use of consumer fireworks within city limits. Local public safety officials suggest leaving the fireworks to the professionals. Fireworks can result in severe burns, fractures, scars, lifetime disfigurement, or even death. The use of consumer fireworks is permitted in Avondale only during the periods of June 24 – July 6. A complete list of authorized items can be found by visiting www.avondaleaz.gov/fireworks
