Avondale Announces Closures and Solid Waste Schedule for Christmas and New Year’s Day

In observance of New Year’s Day both falling on a Monday this year, the City of Avondale announces the closure of various facilities and adjustments to public services.

City facilities, including City Hall, City Court, Avondale Public Libraries, Mountain View Community Center, Visitor and Conference Center, Arizona Complete Health Avondale Resource Center, along with administrative offices at Public Works and Public Safety, will be closed on Monday, New Year’s Day January 1, 2024. 

The Public Works Department will adhere to the following holiday trash and recycling pick-up schedule:

- There will be no solid waste services on Monday, January 1, 2024. Trash and recycling services will take place one day later. Bins normally serviced for pick-up on Friday will be serviced on Saturday.

- Containers must be placed curbside no later than 5 a.m. on the day of collection.
