About
The goal of the Kith and Kin Project is to improve the quality of care provided by childcare providers (parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and neighbors). Participants will have the opportunity to receive additional training and materials related to First Aid and CPR Certification, Car Seats, Cribs, and childproofing their homes.
The trainings will cover early childhood topics including:
-Nutrition
-Guidance and Discipline
-Brain Development
-Language and Literacy
-Ages and Stages of Development
The program is 12-week series that meets once a week for 2 hours. Dates and times:
Tuesdays March 4, 11, 18, and 25 (10 a.m. to Noon)
Tuesdays April 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 (10 a.m. to Noon)
Tuesday, May 6 (10 a.m. to Noon) and Fridays May 16 and 23 (1 - 4 p.m.)
Childcare
While adults participate in the trainings, Candelen provides on-site child care to their children.
