6 p.m. Tennessee Bloodhound & The Scooby Doos: Southern blues and Rock
7 p.m. Phoenix Afrobeat Orchestra: 16 member orchestra playing an Afrobeat style
8:30 p.m. Rock Lobster: 80s cover songs everyone will want to dance to!
In addition to the Main stage lineup, there will be a second stage featuring local youth performing artists and cultural dance groups.
Pre-event festivities – Celebrate Black History Month at EMCC
If you choose to come to the event early, there is plenty of campus activity at EMCC, which is hosting a Black History Month Community Celebration from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the Ceremonial Plaza. The celebration will highlight black history, culture and heritage in the Southwest Valley and feature food, crafts, vendor booths and performances.
Also, at 5:30 p.m. you are invited to attend a Naturalization Ceremony: Approximately 50 people from all over the world will become United States Citizens at the EMCC Conference Center.
Getting There
•Parking - Free parking is available at Estrella Mountain Community College, 3000 N. Dysart Rd.
•Get a Lyft - CulturePOP has partnered with Lyft, providing event goers with an alternate way go to the event. Download the Lyft app and set up your account (available for iOS and Android). Go to the top left menu button in your app and select “PROMOS”. • Road Closure/Detours - Thomas Road will be closed Saturday, Feb 10 from 6 a.m. till midnight, between Dysart Rd. and 135th Ave. Detours will be set up for local traffic. Dysart Road will not have closures. Access to Estrella Mountain Community College and the surrounding neighborhoods will be available throughout the duration of the event. Zoom bus service on Feb. 10 will be detoured, stops on Thomas Rd will not be available on this date.
