Care1st Avondale Resource Center hosts Farmers’ Market every Tuesday
A Farmers Market featuring fresh and locally grown produce will be held in Historic Avondale, at the Care1st Avondale Resource Center every Tuesday, starting July 3 through October 30, 2018.
The Farmers Market will offer the community fresh, locally-grown produce and agricultural based products. Seasonal items will include peaches, plums, watermelons, cantaloupe, onions, garlic, cucumbers, potatoes, leafy vegetables, carrots, and tomatoes. Other items such as bread, honey and coffee will be available. The selection will vary each week. This market will operate rain or shine every Tuesday from 8 a.m. to noon, with an inside market from July-August, and then outside on the lawn September-October.
The market is open to all. Cash, debit and credit, WIC and Snap benefits accepted. Adelante WIC FMNP vouchers will be issued on site for those who are eligible. Food stamp participants’ dollars are doubled at the farmer’s market and Adelante WIC is present to give vouchers for free produce to WIC clients.
