Avondale contracts through Valley Metro to provide residents with Paratransit Service. This service is in compliance with federal regulations. The City of Avondale offers an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Service to eligible persons who, because of a disability, cannot use Valley Metro fixed-route bus service. Please view what is needed for ADA service.  

Fixed-route bus service offers citizens transportation alternatives to locations within the city of Avondale and throughout the Valley. Currently, the city of Avondale offers three local routes, one neighborhood circulator, and one express route to downtown Phoenix. Click on each route for times and maps of service.

Avondale has Valley Metro bus passes for purchase at our one stop shop at Avondale City Hall.

The Avondale Transit Center is situated adjacent to The BLVD parking garage, conveniently located to the southeast of I-10 and Avondale Boulevard in The BLVD shopping district. Visitors can access parking for the transit center within The BLVD garage, which has an entrance on 114th Avenue. A dedicated walking path connects the northeast corner of the parking structure to the transit center's boarding area, offering easy access to Valley Metro Express Bus 563 and Avondale WeRIDE services. The Avondale Transit Center boasts two bus pullouts, a spacious boarding area, and a large transit shelter with ample seating for passengers. Avondale now offers a service called Valley Metro RideChoice (https://www.valleymetro.org/accessibility/ridechoice .  This service provides access to Lyft, taxis and wheelchair-accessible vehicles for ADA paratransit certified Avondale residents. Eligible participants can call for a pickup any time, and they are not required to share rides. Participants can take up to 20 trips per month.

Cost

RideChoice provides a trip of up to 8 miles for $3.00. Additional miles cost $2.00 per mile.

Participants who are using the service for work, school or medical appointments may be eligible for additional trips. If you need to take longer trips, you may be eligible to receive service as a monthly allocation of 400 miles for trips of no more than 50 miles in length within Maricopa County for $3 a trip.

RideChoice is available to Avondale residents who are certified eligible for the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) by the Valley Metro Mobility Center.
