Grants Administration provides administrative, professional and technical support for activities related to securing and managing grant opportunities citywide.
We are committed to identifying funding sources, providing sound grant development and management practices, and facilitating partnerships with City Departments and funding agencies to fiscally support projects and services that improve the quality of life for Avondale citizens.
Contributions Assistance Program
The City of Avondale's Annual Contributions Assistance Program provides funding to nonprofit organizations for projects and activities that provide health and human services. Services provided by applicant organizations must improve the quality of life for Avondale residents. This program continues to provide assistance in the area of housing, education, youth leadership and service, economic empowerment, health and nutrition, senior services and safety. Applications are accepted each spring.
Gaming – Proposition 202 Funding
Proposition 202 allows eligible 501(c)(3) organizations in good standing to seek tribal gaming grants with the City of Avondale as their official sponsor. Sponsorship simply means the City supports the request and passes awarded funds through to the Non-Profit, while all application, reporting, and project responsibilities remain with the organization. To be sponsored, projects must primarily benefit Avondale, align with the City’s Strategic Plan and the tribal community’s funding priorities, and avoid competing with City-led applications. Requests open annually from the second Monday in January to the first Monday in March and must be submitted through the City’s online system, with supporting materials emailed to grantsreporting@avondaleaz.gov. Some tribal communities require a City Council resolution, which the Grants Coordinator will help prepare when needed.
