INSPECTIONS ARE CONDUCTED MONDAY – THURSDAY 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM. CLOSED ON FRIDAYS AND EXCLUDING CITY RECOGNIZED HOLIDAYS.

The City of Avondale Building Inspectors are responsible for ensuring that all construction meets Avondale Building Construction Code and approved regulations. Construction is checked multiple times during various phases of construction for conformance with approved plans as well as compliance with the City Code and Zoning Ordinance, Building, Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, Energy Conservation and Signs. The primary objective of inspections is to assure all buildings are safe to occupy.

Permits are not finalized until all required inspections have been conducted and construction is approved. Building permits become valid only upon payment of all associated fees. Regular inspections must be requested at each stage of construction prior to concealment or cover. Permits will expire if an inspection has not been requested and approved within 180 days of issuance, or if work goes inactive for 180 days.

There are two ways to schedule an inspection: by Text or call. Inspection request called in before 3:00 PM will be scheduled for the next business day. Inspection requests called in after 3:00 PM will be scheduled the following business day (We are closed on Fridays and all City holidays).
